In on-grid application first priority to feed the load will be from solar energy generation through installed intelligent inverter, and then extra load will be served from second source (Utility/Genset).In case if running load is less than solar energy generation, it has the capabillity to cleverly push excessive power into grid. It has also the safety feature to turn off the complete solar system immediately when utility goes off.
